Canaima Overflight |
During the flight to Canaima, weather permitting, the aircraft
will enter Devil΄s Canyon and fly past Angel Falls, the
highest in the world, which descends close to 1,000 mts
into the jungle below. This waterfall was made famous by
Jimmy Angel bush pilot, who crash landed his plane on the
top. Once everybody has seen the fall, the aircraft will
then head to Canaima. Upon landing at Canaima, the group
will be taken to Canaima Lagoon and then to Sapo Falls or
Yuri Falls or Mayupa, depending on the time of the year
and the levels of the waters, however on either excursion
there will be the opportunity to swim and enjoy this unique
area. As a matter of interest, all the water you see coming
down any of the falls, will eventually go into the Carrao
River which in turn will join the Caroni River and empty
in The Guri Lake. After lunch, you can have a drink on the
terrace overlooking Canaima Lagoon, and buy some local Indian
arts and crafts. Around 3.00pm we begin the return flight
to Porlamar.
